the feeling i get from the new trail of dead cd is unexplainable. this is the cd i have been waiting to hear for some time now. i can't stop playing it. it is dark, mammoth, subtle, mysterious, and nostalgic all together. i never thought they would be the band to awe me with a cd like this. the last cd i bought by them was source tags and codes. i havent even heard their "prog-noise-whatever you will" by them in between that album, and the century of self.
its amazing how a $14.00 piece of plastic with artwork can turn your life around in an instant. i wonder, am i the only one affected so strongly by these things? i hope not.

i just spent $1500 on the most badass amp in existence. i finally got a mint vintage red knob sunn model t. ships tomorrow, i leave for the cruise saturday, come back and my amp is at my house. fuck yes.

there is a '75 model t for sale on ebay right now. kevin snaked me 2 days ago and bid on the amp i wanted; he won it. he spent $1500 on a '71 sunn model t. FUCK. 1500 is SOO much money for one of those. the one im bidding on is in way better shape than the one he just got, so fuck him. if i get this thing for $1300 or under i will be the happiest man in the world. if i had an original model t and my model t reissue chained, oh my god. i really need to buy a couple more cabs. i want a 6x12 but they are never for sale, and/or way overpriced. im thinking about building my own 6x12. if succesful, i'll just build a second one. i would love an emperor cab, but i cant see spending $1000 on a cab. if i could get a sunn, orange, hiwatt, or sound city cab at a reasonable price, i'd be sold. ahhhhh i have so much gear on the brain right now its driving me insane.

number two for pelican and number three for isis. last night was amazing. i still cant understand how pelican captures their mammoth sound with such modest gear. they played nightendday and the woods! isis blew me the fuck away again. their new endorsements are rad. i need an electrical baritone. the fryette amps sounded awesome! the fucking pitbull fullstack had balls. i heard the kt88s roaring. i finally got to see them play the beginning and the end live. of course they encored with it. i needed a show like that. there are only a handful of good bands around right now, so its a great feeling to see the ones that have so much passion and talent.

i want to move to oregon. i feel like that would be a smart move for me. im so over everything and everyone here. i just want to be somewhere where i dont know anyone. i feel like i have taken everything i can from everyone around me here, and there is nothing left for me to gain or benefit from.

colorado was the shit. i met isaac brock, rode in powder, was drunk for 3 days straight, and lived through the wildest party i've ever been to. 3 days of nonstop craziness. another thing i found out there...the best girls are from utah. next trip i have to take: salt lake city. oh yea, coolest person i have ever met: tony trujillo.

went snowboarding again yesterday with brian in pennsylvania. it was the best day of riding, but at the end of the day a skiier cut me off and i fell and fucked up my wrist. then, on our last 2 runs down i was sitting on a bench and the cherry fell out of my cig onto my new snowpants and fucking burnt a hole right through them. PISSEDDDD. ugh. i have no desire to do anything.i have work from 2 to close today and then i think i have off work the rest of the week. next week im going to keystone colorado for 3 days to snowboard. zumiez is sending me out there so i dont have to pay for anything. im pretty excited for that. i need to take tons of pictures when im there. i leave on the 13th and get back on the 17th. once i get back my birthday is on the 19th and it is number 21. o man.
my life has been a busy mess the past 2 months. i started having fun again a couple weeks ago. i miss seeing people. ive been stuck in the store so much, and when im not there ive been snowboarding or holed up in dans house writing and playing music. not that its a bad thing, i just miss having somewhat of a social life. its nice to disappear, but there are some people i miss being around.
